Still On A Journey

Looking at the last post I made, it has been 4 years since I have written any thing. Can I tell you that much has not changed in my children’s life’s. There has been times of sobriety and times that addiction has crept back into their life.

My heart still aches and I still have those mom moments when I feel as though I can’t take this anymore. But God has always been so very faithful to me, even when I didn’t seem to have any faith left.

His Word tells me in Deuteronomy 31:8, “It is the Lord who goes before me, He will be with me; He will not leave me or forsake me. Do not fear or be dismayed.”

He has always walked with me these 33+ years. I still believe that I will see the day that both my sons will be delivered from addictions and be who God created them to be. There are others in our family circle that I pray for deliverance from drugs. There is one stipulation though, and that is they have to make a choice to be delivered.

Even though it is their choice, we must never stop praying and believing that our children will be set free of the power that the enemy has over their life. He will make you think that there is no hope, but our hope is in God.

As of today my oldest son has been sentenced to 13 months in prison because of drugs. My youngest son is trying to stop doing anything and become clean once again. They both have a battle ahead of them because the enemy wants to hold them captive. The enemy cannot have my children nor your children. We must pray and pray more.

Becoming clean is a major battle for those who are addicted to drugs. Never think they can just stop and be done. If they give their life to God, then I believe that is possible. But for one walking in the world alone that is impossible. That door has been opened for the enemy to come in and it becomes an enormous battle for the one trying to quit.

Please never give up on your child, continue to pray for them. Even those days they are so hard to love, continue to love them. You maybe all they have in their life who will stand in the gap. God has never given up on them, so don’t you give up.

God hears your prayers. He may not answer like you want Him to, but He will answer them. Remember He is with you at all times, you are never alone on this journey. Find someone you can trust to pray with you. We all need someone we can talk, cry, or laugh with.

Please know I am here for you. Be blessed and know that God loves you and your child.
